The Cukrov family
Meet us

Ante Cukrov
Ante Senior, the head of the shipping tribe Cukrov, in Vodice and beyond, no one calls by name, but by the nickname Desto, after the first ship a hundred-year-old "trabaccolo".
He is the one who made the turning point from "salbunjerstvo", i.e., sand excavation from sea bottom to tourism.
With today's trust in his family's shipping tradition, he bridges the time of old Vodice, the era of tourism development, and the current of adaptation to the new age.
He embodies the Dalmatian approach to life "pomalo" which means nothing is ever "priša" for him. Those two expressions can hardly be literally translated, let’s say it is a lifestyle with no rush and stress. Therefore, decisions he makes are reliable and thoughtful.

Divna Cukrov
Divna is the right hand of Ante Senior and the queen bee of the family. One of her superpowers is that she gathers the whole family at a table where they solve all challenges as a team.
With a joint meal or a cup of hot Turkish coffee, she connects the family in which, alongside everyday life, everyone knows they belong to something bigger.
She is the one who sewed the linen napkins with red thread for our ships.

Ante Cukrov
Ante Junior is a nautical captain who has lived the sea since childhood. He carries a native maritime skill and acquired knowledge at sea, and on land, love for the community that he passionately lives as the president of Vodice Brass Orchestra.
When driving the route to Kornati, Ante confidently gets as close as possible to the "crown" (cliff) so that passengers can see the true face of Miracles up close, he explains it with a smile and says in Vodice slang that the most important thing for him is to "lick Rašip".

Marko Cukrov
Marko has always lived for ships. He is patient, calm and quiet. To the hundred-year-old "trabaccolo" he drives suits him perfectly. His father Ante taught him, as Marko says, that it is essential to get along with people at sea if you plan to be part of this business.
Marko carefully keeps a powerful nautical lamp inherited from his grandfather Frane in his cabin, and when he deftly finds his way with it, for night docks on unlit waterfronts, he says: "I'm so glad to have you."

Nives Cukrov
Nives is Ante and Mark's sister. She is actually the third young captain, the "land captain" of the Destina administration. Behind her office desk hangs an orange life-belt from a wooden boat, of which only that memory remained in the family and one photograph of young Nives sitting on that boat's bow, with a big blue sea in front of her.
Nives patiently and skilfully navigates the seas of accounting, firmly breaking through the straits of bureaucracy and minding on the cliffs of dots and decimals.

Nera Cukrov
When Nera became a member of the family, apart from loving the young captain Ante, she felt that it is important to love ships as well. Luckily, people are naturally prone to ships, and so is Nera. Before emerging, she knows to pat the "trabaccolo" as a living person and tell him "Good luck, dear old man!"
Nera is Destina's Lady of Communication and Sales. All queries go through her filter. As she is a natural perfectionist, you can approach her with confidence that she will take you seriously in all your desires.
