You can try to imagine what the traditional life on the Krka used to be like if you look at the ethnographic exhibition in the restored mills from the 19th century on Skradinski Buk.

Thus, you can see the traditional way of grinding grain into flour in a water mill with a large stone mill driven by water's power.

These mills on the Krka River were known far and wide in ancient times and people used to come to them to grind grain from faraway lands.

How the wool was processed on the river by "stepping", you can see at the place where the woven wool was processed under the power of water and the use of a mechanical device.

As the inhabitants of these karst areas were primarily cattle breeders, they processed wool from their sheep's flock at home and produced everything they needed from it. For covering, they wove heavy, thick blankets made of coarsely spun thread. Inhabitants of Krka and those from numerous villages from the much broader area, including Vodice itself brought those woven blankets, called "biljci", to Krka River for "stepping."

At this location, at the water mills, it is possible to peek into the smithy where the blacksmiths of this area forged kits and various tools needed for everyday life and work on the land.

In the end, you can step into the traditional kitchen and get inspired for an independent search of some of the flavours from Krka after the trip.
